January 22, 1973 more than 46,000,000 babies
have been aborted? That's more than 3,500 babies surgically aborted
every dayâ€"one baby ever 24 seconds. For every two babies born
today, one will be surgically aborted. That's one-third of our
generation killed by abortion, and one-third of the next generation.
Who will cry out for the children? Who will be their voice?

Can you believe that there hasn't been a day set aside to remember
the victims of the worst atrocity in American history? Sure, we have
all kinds of days of bereavement, and rightfully so. Most notably is
Memorial Day, the last Monday in May when America remembers all of
those that died fighting to defend our country. Still, what about the
victims of the largest war of all timeâ€"the war in the womb?

That's why American Life League has established the first ever Pro-
life Memorial Day, a day to remember and honor the victims of
America's hidden holocaust. Pro-life Memorial Day has been
established on the first Monday of every October, because that's the
traditional opening day of the annual Supreme Court session. This
year, Pro-life Memorial Day falls on October 3. Will you join us in
honoring the 46,000,000 young lives lost to surgical abortion since
the Supreme Court's 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling that decriminalized the
killing of innocent preborn children?

What can you do to remember the babies forever silenced by abortion?
Lots! First of all, spread the word. Plaster your schools and your
churches with flyers and posters promoting this day. Send out e-
mails, post blogs, write a letter to the editor of your local
newspaper. Wear the official Pro-life Memorial Day T-shirt. Spread
the word so that this day becomes a true memorial to the one-third of
our generation that has been wiped outâ€"a memorial that America
cannot ignore.

To assist you in your efforts to spread the word, we have flyers and
posters you can download at the Pro-life Memorial Day website
ProlifeMemorialDay.com, as well as order info for the official Pro-
life Memorial Day T-shirt.

What happens if you get harassed by a school administrator for
wearing your pro-life T-shirt at your public school? Visit the Pro-
life Memorial Day web site for information on what to do if you get
harassed. In most cases, you have a free speech right to wear this T-
shirt. Make sure to follow the steps on “dealing with harassment”
to make sure your rights are not abused.

In addition to our ultimate goal of ending abortion in America, we
would also like to see President Bush officially recognize the first
Monday of every October as National Pro-life Memorial Day. We can do
this if we collectively petition him to do so and you can help us!
Sign our petition to President Bush and collect signed petitions from
your pro-life friends and family. You can find this petition at the
Pro-life Memorial Day web site. After you collect signatures, send
them to us so we can deliver them to the White House.

You can also pray for the event. Pray for its success. If you are a
student, organize prayer at the pole in the morning. Gather outside
your local Planned Parenthood or some other abortion mill and pray as
a witness to all those who have been forever silenced. Organize a
candlelight vigil at your local or state courthouse or other
government offices. Candlelight vigils will be occurring nationwide
at 7:30 p.m. local time for one hour.

We know that women and teens are afraid of hardship as they face an
unexpected pregnancy. However, death is not the answer or an easy way
out. Life is a blessing, a gift from our Creator, not a curse or a
commodity. Pray that ultimately our nation turns away from the sin of
abortion, separating herself from this dark blotch in her history.

Will you help us make history? On October 3, will you be a voice for
the babies?
